I’ve been seeing Dr. Powell for an arthritic knee for literally years. I’m not a candidate for knee replacement surgery, but Dr. Powell has kept me comfortable and functioning. I don’t know where I’d be without him and his wonderful, knowledgeable staff. I wish I could give them 10 stars!.

I have been to Dr. Powell twice. In March I had rotator cuff surgery. I have had had excellent experience both times. The front Office staff is so friendly and helpful. The nurses took such good care of me from medications to answering all my concern. Rachel took care of all my insurance. The rehab is definitely the key to a successful outcome. I highly recommended Dr. Powell and his staff for your orthopedic needs.

Dr. Powell and his staff are excellent and nice. Dr. Powell explained everything to me and what he was going to do when he did carpal tunnel surgery on my first hand. I knew what to expect on the other hand. The checkup after surgery was good. I would highly recommend Dr. Powell.

Dr. Powell and his team has been nothing but amazing. I am not one to write reviews but for Powell Orthopedics I felt like I needed to share my great experience with them! I have had two knee injuries and both were taken care of by Powell. I have been a gymnast for 14 years and am now going to college for Cheerleading. After my second knee injury (torn ACL and Meniscus) I thought I would lose the ability to do the sport I love but Powell assured me it would be ok and he didn’t lie. I am about six months out from surgery and I feel stronger than ever! Not only was Dr Powells successful surgery a blessing but so was his physical therapy team. Shawn and Miranda constantly pushed me and they were always in my corner cheering me on to make sure I could get back to 100%. I often said physical therapy was one of my favorite parts of the week! I am eternally grateful for the Powell Orthopedics team and I know they will always be there if I need help or have any questions in the future.

Dr. Powell and his staff provided excellent care for me in treating my knee. He reviewed my imaging results and what was needed clearly. On the day of surgery everyone took great care of me. Follow-up care has been thorough and my knee feels like new. I highly recommend Dr. Powell for any of your orthopedic care.

Dr. Powell is a straight shooter. And his staff are great people. When I had a meniscus tear he diagnosed it with a simple x-ray. Dr. Powell gave me his recommendation and I trusted what he had to say. My surgery went perfect and my recovery is great. If you’re like me and expect a doctor to be on time, he’s the one to do it.

Dr. Powell is the BEST orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine physician! He is up-to-date on the latest and most effective techniques and procedures. I have been his patient since 2018. I would not consider anyone else for knee or shoulder care. I highly recommend Dr. Powell and his staff because they are compassionate, friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Most important to this working girl is the ease in making an appointment and no waiting for weeks or months to get in. He is the only one in the area that I would let do PRP injections because he is so skilled.

If you have plantar fascia pain, call Dr. Powell! The TENEX procedure is different from traditional plantar fascia surgery. Recovery time was minimal and 8 weeks after surgery I walked 15 miles in one day with no pain. Dr. Powell and his staff are amazing and truly care, can’t thank them enough!

Dr. Powell is a wonderful orthopedic MD. While my first name is not Calamity, Dr Powell has seen me thru these: broken fibula, knee surgery, fractured tibia, broken wrist and other embarrassing slips and falls best not listed to save space. Each time I’ve needed Dr. Powell I have been able to see him quickly and get treatment to begin healing as soon as humanly possible. Dr Powell has become reliable friend of my overall health by treating me and thru referrals for skeletal issues I didn’t know how to address. Overall, given the above list my results are: my bones work without a limp and without pain, pain relievers, cane, crutch or swelling. While I have a long list of repairs, nobody watching me walk or do yoga would guess it!! Thanks to Dr. Powell!!

Highly recommend Dr. Powell! I had a torn ACL and meniscus. Dr. Powell explained my options and was very upfront about risks and realistic expectations. I chose to have surgery as I wanted to remain active by playing tennis and going hiking. It’s been 1.5 yrs since my surgery and my knee is feeling good and the scars are barely noticeable. My only complaint is with the office itself. Everyone is super nice – that’s not an issue, but twice they did not have a record of my scheduled appointment. I live nearly an hour away and had to make special arrangements at work to adjust for my appointments and realizing they didn’t have it on file was an added stress. Fortunately, I was able to still get in the same day both times.

2 years ago I was referred to Dr. Powell for acute knee pain. Having been overweight my entire life it never registered to me this could be the reason for my pain. Dr. Powell was very caring and gave me exactly what I needed to hear to help my pain. “Stephanie, if you don’t loose weight you will be in a wheelchair within 5 years”! I am so grateful he said those strong words to me. Today I am 140 pounds lighter and I owe the initiative to Dr. Powell! I do still have knee pain and Dr. Powell has a plan in place in a few weeks with a procedure to alleviate my pain. I am absolutely grateful to have Dr. Powell as my surgeon!

I recently had my second shoulder repaired by Dr. Powell. Both surgeries went well and I had no problems with recovery (except for the normal post op pain, etc.) The office staff is amazing too. They are all very friendly and helpful, and will take care of you. I must say that I think Dr. Powell and his staff are the very best of the best ! I told him at my last appointment that I will be coming back once I am ready for my ‘bad’ knee needs replacement. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Just recently moved to Northwest from Dallas, TX. On March 28th I Was involved in an accident that caused tremendous injury to my left leg. Not knowing anyone in the new city to seek proper medical treatment was just as painful as my torn quadriceps tendons. Thank God to my colleagues at work I connected with Dr. Powell and his wonderful, kind and caring staff. Two and half weeks following the surgery, I am recovering beautifully. Dr. Powell and his staff are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I managed to do a great deal of damage to my knee. Prior to my surgery, Dr. Powell thoroughly explained the procedure and what to expect with my recovery. Great experience from the front desk lady greeting us with a smile and friendly conversation, to the friendly and helpful medical assistant, to the X-ray technician who made it fun with smiles and friendly conversation, to Dr. Powell who spent a lot of time getting to know us, educating us about my issue and offering his advice and help. He stayed with us until all our questions were answered. He even visited with us on the way out. Last but not least, the check out lady who was beyond friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend Dr Powell to anyone who has knee problems. He and his staff are very friendly. Dr Powell performed arthroscopic knee surgery to remove the torn meniscus and cleaned up the arthritis in my knee. I now can walk comfortably and without constantly being in pain.

I have had tow surgeries in the past year, both by Dr Powell. A knee that had a torn meniscus and had to have cartilage removed. My knee is doing very well. My shoulder had to have rotator cuff repaired, had biceps fraying form shoulder repaired and calcium deposits removed. Followed his suggested PT and very happy with how my shoulder has responded. I highly recommend Dr Mark Powell for shoulder and knee surgery.

Dr. Powell is an attentive listener. He is patient and thorough. Over the years I have gone to him for shoulder and knee problems and he has helped me alleviate pain and heal properly I particularly appreciate his office staff. They are friendly and helpful and the atmosphere within the office is congenial. Dr. Powell has a number of people on his staff who have worked for him for more than 20 years. Dr. Powell would always be my first choice in a doctor when I have knee and shoulder problems.

Always get a second opinion… that’s how I found Dr. Powell. I had my ACL reconstructed the old school archaic way in the 90’s… then fast forward to 2022 I thought I could jump the creek. I jumped it lol- I didn’t fall or twist or anything but the hard landing caused swelling and pain and my knee was loose and unstable. I got an mri and the first surgeon wanted to do immediate surgery- even though my acl is fine- I have a torn meniscus but besides acute instability and acute pain I didn’t need surgery. I read the first surgeons reviews on Google and was terrified- then I found Dr. Powell- he has great reviews for a reason. He told me he absolutely would not do surgery on me; he explained he would never do surgery on me and if I needed one cause of chronic pain he’d send me to the specialist in St. Louis. I was not in chronic pain- I just had an acute injury- He sent me to PT and I ordered a sexy robo knee brace and seven weeks later my knee is fine it is 100%. I am so grateful! For a surgeon who makes his money doing surgery telling me heck no… he won’t do surgery on me- and the other dude wanting to do a crazy surgery right away I was in shock at the differing opinions but blessed to get that second opinion. Dr. Powell is moral, honest, trustworthy and that’s pretty amazing for a surgeon who makes his money from surgery telling me the opposite of the other surgeon dude- I hope I never have to see Dr. Powell again lol and I mean that with love, he’s clearly awesome and kind and honest, but I don’t plan to jump creeks anymore or play basketball or tennis. But if my family ever needs an orthopedic surgeon he is the first person I will call. Anyways I’m rambling, but I believe Dr. Powell is the most ethical surgeon in NWA- his reviews speak for themselves and he looks out for patients more than his pocketbook. Last thing- his whole staff is salt of the earth amazing! Thank you guys!

I had rotator cuff surgery in February 7th, 2022. All of the staff were extremely polite, compassionate and knowledgeable. Always on time for my appointment. Doctor Powell is friendly, kind and direct. I was back to work in 2 weeks, still in a sling and restricted on my duties. (manager and a lot of computer work) I followed all the guidelines given to me so my recovery would be smooth. I went to PT every week, did my exercises and was smart with my activities. I can’t say enough good things about my experience. I am extremely grateful I went for a 2nd opinion and it was Dr. Powell and his team!

I easily scheduled an appointment and the staff took over from there they scheduled my MRI appointment as well as my physical therapy and podiatrist visits. I was notified of future appointments and quickly got in to see Dr Powell and his staff. They helped me with braces and follow up visits prior to and following surgery. After surgery Dr Powell called to check on me personally and he took my phone calls when I had concerns or questions. I was notified by phone about scheduling changes due to weather and easily rescheduled. My surgery went well and Dr Powell’s staff helped me through the ordeal and put me concerns to rest.

Dr. Powell is an excellent orthopedic surgeon! I came to him after 4 months of swelling and severe pain in my knee. He was very thorough in investigating and determining the cause of my pain. He was extremely careful not to overpromise what he as a surgeon could deliver. He quoted the list of all that could possibly go wrong with my knee surgery so many times that I could easily tell it back to him! But he accomplished far more than I thought possible. Following the surgery (and 2 ½ months of physical therapy), the swelling was gone and I was able to dance with my son at his wedding without any pain! I praise the Lord for Dr. Powell and his wonderful staff!

After going to my orthopedic doctor 3 times and him not listening to what I was telling him and just giving me a shot in the shoulder and sending me to physical therapy which if anything made it worse I decided to look for a new orthopedic doctor. I picked Dr Powell and am very pleased with the outcome. I had a torn rotator cuff, muscle and tendon. He listened and ordered an MRI right away and did my surgery. I am very happy with the results and would recommend Dr Powell to anyone who needs an orthopedic doctor. All of his staff are very nice.

Dr. Mark Powell is an excellent Doctor. I am 78 years old, and my right knee was very painful when walking. He explained everything and gave me pictures showing the source of the problems in my knee, and what he would be doing in surgery to solve the the situation. He gave me details and was very reassuring about what caused the difficulty I was having and what procedures to do, including Physical Therapy, following the surgery. He emphasized that he wanted me to WALK and NOT sit around. ( He was even emphatic to my wife, that she was NOT to wait on me !!!–she has followed his instructions!!) His confidence In my ability to be able to walk without pain, following surgery was VERY reassuring. Also, his nurse, Mary Martha, was excellent in making sure to go back over the Doctor’s instructions, making sure I understood clearly what I was to do. I returned as instructed, for Dr. Powell to be checked. I highly recommend Dr. Powell and his staff for ANY orthopedic procedure.

Dr. Powell has the quality that everyone desires: he listens. The waiting room may be filled with patients, but when he enters your room, he sits down and gives you his complete attention. Having known Dr. Powell and some of his staff (Margie) since he opened his first office in Springdale, I can honestly say I would not hesitate to refer anyone to him. He is caring, compassionate and very knowledgeable. He has helped me with a foot injury on two different occasions. Margie is a sweetheart and wants to make sure all the patients feel welcome and comfortable. Even though I don’t know the other members of his staff by name, I can say that they are always pleasant. They even call you at home to make sure you are okay if there is a great concern. The best place for orthopedic care in my opinion.

Dr. Powell has treated both of my daughters for running & soccer injuries. He did a wonderful job getting them back on their feet. He has also treated me for achilles & knee injuries, including knee surgery. Dr. Powell is very attentive & really listens to his patients. He takes his time to prescribe the best course of treatment, taking into account what the patient’s goals are. His front office staff & nurses are all very kind & helpful, and the physical therapists on staff are great. We have received excellent treatment from Dr. Powell, & that is why we have continued to see him for all of our injuries. I would highly recommend him to others.

I have been to Dr. Powell several times for different problems. Pain in my left knee, torn rotator cuff in my right shoulder, and pain in my left shoulder. Every time he has handled the problem quickly and effectively. The physical therapy team associated with his clinic is also great and aided greatly in the recovery for all my problems. I had a knee injury due to a wakeboarding accident that never seemed to heal correctly. After 4 months of different therapies, I decided to see Dr. Powell. He had a very high sense of urgency…which scared me. After a second opinion matched what Dr. Powell was recommending, I decided to have surgery, after which, he recommended aggressive physical therapy. If I had not taken Dr. Powell’s advice, I would likely have a permanent knee condition drastically limiting my knee range of motion. Three months after surgery and intense PT, I have gained full range of motion and am starting to regain some of my normal activities such as mountain biking. With continued work toward my goals, I feel like I will make a full recovery. This is all because Dr. Powell let me know the severity of my condition and reacted quickly. I cannot thank him and his staff enough for helping me regain my very active lifestyle.

Dr. Powell and his team are total healers. I’ve had breaks twice, a knee surgery and recently an injured foot. In three injuries I saw my GP who found nothing wrong, each time when I got to Dr. Powell he identified the break, repaired it or booted it and got me into PT very quickly. I love Doctor Powell, and his staff! They all are so amazing to work with! I love their smiles and friendliness! Doctor Powell has done both of my knees, twice! (2007 and 2009) I’m doing great with them now! I just had my shoulder done, last September; and he has released me from that surgery! He and “all his stuff,” work with you like you are someone special; at least that is how I feel, every time I go there! They are the greatest to work with, and they also make me smile, or even laugh sometimes! They also have great Therapists to work with you, to help you back to where you can be yourself again! They also make you feel special, and help you to do your exercises! I love all of them, as you can see I’ve been with them since 2006! I would Highly recommend all of them; cause I put my Trust in them, to help me whenever I’ve needed help! In fact my husband is having his surgery done by Doctor Powell, as soon as they can get back to doing surgeries!

I could never say enough GOOD about everyone at Powell Orthopedics!! His office staff is friendly, sweet and give personal attention! Shawn and Miranda in therapy are the best anywhere! They are tough But care enough to even wipe away my tears! His attending nurses are Totally fantastic! AND Dr. Powell Himself Is the best of the Best! Dr. Powell has been My orthopedic for many years and I would never go anywhere else! He knows what he’s doing and goes above and beyond to give the best care possible. I have had three knee surgeries over the years; and rotatory cuff surgery with a partial frozen shoulder to boot! I truly feared I would never be rid of the pain or have the ability to raise my arm again. Now 6 months out I have gained nearly full range of motion and I am able to do everything I need to do. Thank You! Thank You! Y’all are AMAZING!

Dr. Powell and his staff are amazing! We have been coming to him for several years, for various needs. I have had two knee surgeries and this year a shoulder surgery. I thought I would never be able to raise my arm again, but after surgery and the excellent therapy care at Powell Orthopedics I Have once again gained the freedom of movement I had lost! Powell Orthopedics is the Best!

Dr. Powell and the team at Powell Orthopedics are top notch. After a knee scope and a round of PRP injections, one year later, my knee feels almost like a new one. The pain is gone and I am mobile. Much better than prior to surgery.

Finally, some relief for pain I had been living with for months. I love the suggestions from Dr. Powell of solutions before scope or surgery. Dr. Powell has surrounded himself with amazing staff. The wonderful lady who helps with insurance, the cheerful greeters when you walk in and leave, the amazing nursing staff, and the Physical Therapists, Shawn and Miranda, are amazing. Everyone makes you feel like family rather than a patient bringing in business. In PT, everyone talks and actually enjoys the drudgery of the PT exercises while getting stronger and better. The therapists were so kind. I watched them with the young as well as the elderly. Great job, Dr. Powell, in your practices for bringing relief and healing along with your amazing staff.

I want my doctor to be both straight-forward and compassionate. Dr. Powell exhibits both of these qualities. From the front desk staff to my assessment with the Top Dog, I felt welcomed the moment I walked in. I am now doing physical therapy at Powell Orthopedic. By the second visit, my service dog and I felt like we were part of the family. As much as I would love to not need this service, I am so glad to have found Dr. Powell and his team!

Dr. Powell is great and his staff is amazing. My ACL surgery went well and physical therapy got me back to my active lifestyle without any complications. Everyone in the office and physical therapy clinic is friendly and sort of like family. I especially like having physical therapy at the same location as the Dr who did my surgery and follow up appointments as I felt everything/everyone was able to be in line. Dr. Powell always knew my specific situation and expectations for recovery. He truly seemed to care and wanted to help me get back to 100%. Shawn made physical therapy enjoyable and also knew where I was with recovery and pushed me to get better than before surgery.

My daughter dislocated her ankle and broke it in a couple of places a few years ago in a diving board accident. Dr. Powell and his staff were absolutely amazing!! He’s a 10 on a scale of 1-5 in every respect. He was very careful in his decision on how to treat her and collaborated with his partner to ensure they were in agreement before concluding on the plan of attack. His bedside manner was superb both with my daughter and myself. He did such a great job that my daughter has been able to continue diving at the collegiate level since her accident. I have the highest respect for Dr. Powell as a surgeon and as a person.

Dr. Powell preformed the Tenex procedure on my foot for plantar fasciitis. The procedure was quick, with little down time and minimal discomfort. I am so glad to walk pain free after several years of pain. Thank you!

Unbelieveable !!!! What a great surgeon. I had an accident that tore my rotator cuff and damaged my upper right arm; I had not been able to use my right arm for a year. After 6 months I now have full range of motion and with the help of Dr. Adams I am resuming all use of my right arm. Thank you, thank you, thank you. You guys are great!

I have been to other orthopedic doctors, and I have to say that Dr. Powell is the only one who has helped me! I LOVE his staff, they are all very friendly and sweet, and they even know my name when I walk through the door after one visit. I will be seeing him from now on for all my orthopedic needs. Exceptional physician!! Patient, respectful, great communication and very skilled. Orthopedic physician for the Arkansas Razorbacks. Highly recommend. Additionally, if surgery is needed, ask about Northwest Physicians Specialty Hospital for procedure. They have the absolute best staff, providing the best care, hands down.
